Moebius Models Figure Kits JAN131738 Editorial Review
The resurgence of classic model kits like Moebius' Dr. Jekyll and Mr. Hyde has found a warm reception among both nostalgic builders and new hobbyists alike. Originally released by Aurora in the 1960s, this model kit captures the essence of the iconic horror narrative while employing modern enhancements that delight seasoned modelers. Users have appreciated the quality of the molds, noting improvements such as a 'tongue and groove' connection system, which facilitates a more cohesive assembly experience, as well as the addition of clear components for the lab equipment, lending a contemporary twist to a vintage design. Many builders have reported that assembling the kit is a joyful experience, whether independently or alongside family, highlighting the kit's ability to foster creative bonding moments. The nostalgic factor, combined with the straightforward assembly process, has made it a popular choice for those looking to reminisce or introduce the hobby to new generations. While some users pointed out minor discrepancies, particularly with Jekyll's dental features, most agreed that the kit's overall charm and potential for customization overshadow these issues. However, potential builders should be aware that the kit does not come with painting instructions, encouraging a spirit of creativity and self-direction as builders draw inspiration from online resources. Overall, the Dr. Jekyll and Mr. Hyde model kit stands out as a well-crafted collectible that strikes a chord for its nostalgia and engaging build experience. **
