The UbiBot WS1 is a high quality multipurpose sensor that has been fully calibrated in the factory. There is a desktop app available to connect the device to wifi, although the phone app is the most popular method. The device can be mounted on a clean and flat surface or hung with a tape. It is recommended to ensure that it is out of the reach of pets. The device can be used as an engine room temperature sensor provided there is WiFi signal in the engine room. There is no direct access except for configuration via USB, however, it is now possible to purchase a “private domain package” at an additional cost to help with this. Some customers experienced issues with connecting the device to wifi and encountered glitches. One customer tried to put in a correction but could only do so in Centigrade, and another found the instructions to be a joke. However, most customers were satisfied with the device’s configurable features and excellent customer service. The UbiBot WS1 has been used to monitor environmental conditions in yachts and walk-ins, and alerts by email were helpful in detecting freezing of foods. Additionally, the external temperature probe has been used in an upright freezer, despite some issues with cable thickness allowing air leakage. A repeater is recommended to assist in signal strength and monitoring continuity. Overall, the UbiBot WS1 has received positive customer feedback despite some initial setup issues for a small percentage of customers.
