The Amcrest NV4108E-A2 4K 8CH POE NVR 1080p3MP4MP5MP8MP POE Network Video Recorder allows simultaneous use of POE and Wi-Fi cameras. It can support 8 x 8MP4K IP Cameras with 8-Channel Power Over Ethernet. The NVR uses both af and at power on the PoE. The kit also comes with a Seagate Skyhawk HDD. However, many users have found the Amcrest software both for NVRs and cameras to be terrible, and even software engineers have had issues with it. Mac support is worse than that of Windows, and users have difficulty with setup. The NVR will notify users of motion detection events, but setting it up is a problem, and the NVR records video in .DAV format. To play it back, users will need to get 3rd party software, which is a hassle. On the other hand, if the Goswift 4K cameras are Onvif compliant, they will run in the unit. Amcrest recommends running Amcrest Cameras in Amcrest NVR and DVRs for a more full-featured experience. The UI of the device is said to be un-intuitive and needs work. Searching for videos takes time and playback is slow. Cameras have been known to drop out and become unauthorised for no apparent reason.
