Can it cut through deer bones or joints?
Answer: It is a lightweight hand axe, but I would be sure it will. It cuts through a 2-inch limb with ease. -

Can I use the back to hammer in tent stakes?
Answer: The axe is stamped steel, so there isn't a broad striking surface in the back. I imagine it could be done if you have great aim, but it is not designed for that type of use. -

Does the sheath have a belt loop?
Answer: Yep, but the sheath is pretty poor quality. Don't expect it to hold up for long. Great little hatchet for the price though. -
Question:
Can you cut meat with it?
Answer: It doesn't come sharp enough to act as a very functional knife. You could sharpen it to a knife edge, but I would just use a knife for cutting meat, and a hatchet as a hatchet.
